The logo tells the story of NEN by depicting standards in the letter E. These norms continue throughout the design (system). The color red underlines NEN's vision and values of "discovery, drive and commitment. The logo is a bit quirky and playful, just like NEN.
In the spring of 2019, NEN entered a transition; NEN's governance was reviewed and its strategy recalibrated. In the new strategy NEN 2025, connection, data and flexiblity are key concepts.
NEN derives its right to exist from establishing connections between relevant parties on relevant topics. In this way, NEN has created a unique platform with impact for more than 100 years. In 2025, we will have to respond to market and societal needs. These needs will cross the boundaries of sectors and markets. Even more than now, our services will be digital and immediately applicable with a visible positive impact on society.
In 2025, NEN will still be facilitating standards committees. This is important work and we will continue to do it. But in the coming years the subjects will become increasingly cross-sectoral, increasingly important for good chain operation, more complex and more impactful. We cherish the standardization process and want to develop it further. How can we shape that and lead the way? Let's think and dream about other forms and other ways of making agreements or adding value to society. In this way we enable ourselves to involve even more stakeholders in the standardization process.
In 2025, NEN will still be selling standards, only much more in the form of composite, digital services that provide direct value to the specific user. The time when a user has to search the 'paper' standards for the passages he needs will soon be over.
