And for larger projects, we coordinate directly with the manufacturer so that full truckloads are transported directly from the factory to the project site. This allows us to combine our flexibility for small jobs with the logistical capabilities needed for large projects.”
Just as important as the product range is the technical expertise at De Hoop Pekso. Every day, the specialists work closely with building materials suppliers, contractors, precast manufacturers, and rebar bending and tying centers to determine the most efficient reinforcement solution. “Sometimes we’re provided with a complete bill of materials, but often we only receive a construction drawing with the question of which products would be best to use,” says Nolet. “We translate those drawings into smart, practical solutions and advise not only on the right product but also on a more efficient construction process.”
Moreover, innovation is deeply rooted in the company’s DNA. For example, De Hoop Pekso developed the standard reinforcement cage more than 25 years ago, after noticing that the same types of foundation reinforcement kept recurring in practice. This cage has since become the standard in the Dutch market.
Reinforcing steel also plays a central role at De Hoop Terneuzen’s own production sites. From various branches, the company supplies reinforcing steel for wide-slab floors, precast cages, and prestressing steel to its own factories for precast concrete products and pile foundations. Whereas traditional masonry reinforcement consists of long, rigid bars that must be cut to size on the construction site, Murfor® Compact is supplied on a roll. It is easy to handle and can be quickly cut to the desired length with wire cutters. This saves time, allows for more precise work, and ensures that masons can use the correct length right away. Finally, De Hoop Pekso is also the right place to go for cement screed mesh.
